As a little girl, my wife Vicki spent her summers at her grandparents farm in West Virginia. This painting shows her grandparents, parents, her brother on the bank and her on a rock playing in the creek (she loves playing in the water). The wash shed and root cellar are behind the house. The barn is acrossed the creek and the chicken coop between the two. they had cows in the steep hilly pastures behind the house. The privy was back in the hollow. After finishing the painting Vicki informed me that they actually had a 'two hole privy' (oh well). This painting is 16"x20", oil on stretched canvas. prints and paintings are available at my website www.waltcurleeart.com or can be sold through E-bay.
